Precious Moment.

Yesterday Jack found a picture of Mike and his face lit up. He turned to me and with a huge smile on his face said, "dada dada."

It was definitely a proud parent moment.

I am writing this blog post using my NEW MacBook Pro. Shout out to Grandpa G-Man and Grandma Moolie for a kick ass "congrats on getting into med school" gift. Couldn't ask for more thoughtful, generous parents!

Here's to the long nights of studying that lay ahead...At least I will be well-equipped!

My 1st Mother's Day

What an amazing weekend :)

On Friday we had the opportunity to watch Maddie perform in Circus Juventus. Jack LOVED it and Maddie was amazing on the multiple trapeze. Mike walked for his MBA on Saturday and then celebrated Jake's bachelor party that night. Mother's day on Sunday - playtime in the yard, time well spent with family, great food, wonderful conversation and absolutely gorgeous weather.

I have an amazing family and could not feel more loved on this, my first mother's day.

Jack and Mike are truly the loves of my life. And I could not be a happier, more proud mother and wife.

Yesterday on the way home from daycare Jack was being super fussy so I asked him to find his nuk. He lifted up his leg, found it under his bootie, picked it up, giggled and popped it into his mouth. And was completely content the rest of the way home.

Already a Bad Influence!

Jack's cousin Oliver was caught throwing food off his dinner plate the other night. When his mom asked him why he was doing it, he simply replied, "Jack, Jack, Jack!"

Balls.

Jack has a new obsession (or rather has had for quite some time...). Balls. Doesn't matter what size, what color, what kind, what texture. Jack loves them ALL. And he can say "ball" too. It is the cutest thing :) He even says it in his sleep.

No matter where we are he manages to find one too. At daycare he has a plethora! At home - probably 7 or 8 of them. At the baseball field - he saw a basketball probably 50 feet away and made a beeline for it! He (so kindly) took it away from another little girl and when the dad looked down he thought Jack came out of nowhere. I think we might have trouble on our hands... :) Better watch out the next time we take a trip to the toy, or should I say ball, store!

And the kid loves playing catch! He could play for hours. He throws with both hands but is primarily a lefty. He has even figured out how to hold his hands out to catch it. Not the best at it...but working hard on it!

Makes My Heart Melt

Tonight Mike and I were listening to music, dancing and singing with Jack in our arms. And the cutest thing happened - he started to sing :) He hummed and then he belted his babbles out. Just about made me melt.

It was a moment to remember. And how perfect a song too - a song Mike and I pumped the morning we left for the hospital!

Music Class

Thanks to gramma and grandpa g-man, Jack and I get to enjoy music class together every Monday. While he is not quite old enough to understand whats going on, he certainly enjoys seeing his cousins...and chewing on his toys...

So Much to Learn...

My Kind of Guy

Jack loves being outside. He loves going for walks, but most of all, he loves just soaking it all in - the air, the cars, the smells, the sounds, the world around him about which he barely yet knows. When we go outside, he gets in the zone; he calms down and seems to be at complete utter peace.

I can't wait for this summer when we get to explore the world in greater depth. The grass, the sand, water, mud, dirt, all that good stuff that Jack has yet to discover! I have a feeling it is going to be an absolute blast of a summer with this guy, my guy, my kind of kid.
